CX/TX Sport Comfort Last – The Sport Comfort last has been redesigned with a wider toe box and a stable forefoot platform, promoting natural toe spread, better alignment, and fewer pressure points while maintaining pedaling efficiency.
Nylon composite sole with a load capacity of 60,000 kJ. A stiff, lightweight nylon composite sole ensures efficient power transfer with controlled flexibility for all-day comfort. The outsole features 9 mm adjustable cleat rails from toe to heel and an extended midfoot position, allowing cyclists to precisely fine-tune cleat placement for biomechanical efficiency and reduced stress. Enlarged ventilation channels in the sole improve airflow, while oversized heel and toe protection increase grip and durability off the bike.
The upper of the CX178 is made of durable, stretch-resistant microfiber with precision-cut ventilation openings in the forefoot and midfoot. These openings promote air circulation and moisture management without compromising structural integrity. The anatomical shaping of the upper aligns perfectly with the redesigned toe box, reducing pressure on the inside and outside of the forefoot and allowing the toes to expand naturally under load. This design enhances comfort while ensuring a secure, performance-oriented fit.
BOA® Fit System L6 dial. The L6 dial offers quick, micro-adjustable tension across the midfoot. The system ensures even pressure distribution and quick on and off, while keeping the weight low. Combined with the supportive upper, the closure provides a glove-like, secure fit throughout the entire pedal stroke.
